I need immediate help! I signed up for my log-in information again this morning (in which I may already have an account but of course can't find it). I'm a current RPLS Member and have accessed the forms library before (but again, cannot find log-in information). I need to obtain the Supplement to the Model Legal Opinion form ASAP and I can't get to it. PLEASE HELP! Thanks so much!!!

I think it is unfortunate that this position has been taken rather than a position to educate those attorneys who conduct witness only closings.

Many of the attorneys that I have met who engage in this practice area do so mostly out of necessity. Most of them were not hired by law firms once they graduated, however, each has serious obligations to satisfy and for many these types of closings are there only means of support. The selection process of firms results in many new grads being unemployed rather than employed with a particular law firm.

I think a better position to take is for attorneys to help one another, that is to educate rather than eradicate. I'm not stating that the current process may posssess faults; however, many states do permit the same types of closings without an attorney present. In fact the closings are conducted in Washington, DC with just a notary.

To make witness closings an unauthorized practice of law in Georgia, will also bring up consitutional questions regarding the interference with interstate commerce.

I believe a better solution is to determine the best method to manage this process.
